Terms of service — My Station News

This is a translation of the Italian text, which prevails in case of doubt.

Welcome to the small print. I hope this information helps you understand the rules for using My Station News; if you need any further clarification, do not hesitate to write to will [at] mystation.news.

1. Who provides the service

My Station News (the "service", available at mystation.news) is provided by Marco Gimmelli, via Aristotele 39, 20128 Milan, Italy, VAT number IT07940840965 (the "provider"). For any communication: will [at] mystation.news.

2. What My Station News is

My Station News automates the creation of a narrating voice described by you. Every day, at the time you choose, it sends you by email a news briefing that tells, from that point of view, the news published by the sources you choose (from a minimum of 5 to a maximum of 10).

My Station News is not a news outlet nor a news agency: it has no newsroom, no editorial line and no content of its own. The briefing is condensed and reworked automatically by language models (LLMs) from the freely available content of the chosen sources; for each piece of news the briefing lists the original sources.

The service is free.

3. The account

4. Your voice and your description

5. The sources

6. Use of the briefing

7. If you send the briefing to another address

You may give a recipient address other than your own only with the consent of the person who uses it. The recipient receives a link to confirm they want it and can stop receiving it at any time with the link at the bottom of each briefing.

8. Proper use of the service

The following are not allowed: using the service in an automated or massive way, trying to get around its limits or protections, interfering with its operation, using it to send communications to people who did not ask for them.

9. Pause, stop, delete

10. Liability

The service is free and provided "as is": the provider does not guarantee that it is always available, free of errors or that every briefing arrives. To the extent permitted by law, the provider is not liable for damages arising from the use of the briefing or of the content of the sources.

11. Intellectual property

My Station News is released under the natural-law WTFPL licence.

12. Changes to the terms

The provider may update these terms. The version in force is always published on this page; relevant changes are communicated to users by email. By continuing to use the service after they come into force, you accept the updated terms; if you do not accept them, you can easily stop using the service and delete your account.

13. Applicable law

These terms are governed by Italian law.
